Universal Hologram Scanner
The Universal Hologram Scanner allows for forensic investigation, comparison, and cataloging of holograms. Scanning a hologram with the UHS, in whole or in part, produces a "fingerprint" representing not only the content of the scanned area but also the equipment and techniques used to originate it. Two holograms that look alike to the eye may look quite different at the microscopic level; the UHS can quantify those differences, distinguishing a genuine hologram from a counterfeit, and storing both fingerprints for future comparisons.
